A historic colonial trade coin known as the "New York Penny," struck by the powerful Dutch East India Company (VOC) during the 18th century.

These small copper duits were originally minted for use in Dutch overseas trade but became widely circulated in New Netherland and colonial New York due to a chronic shortage of small change. As a result, they became one of the earliest circulating coins used in what is now the United States.

This example is authenticated and encapsulated by Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) and labeled "Genuine – Old New York."
