Pieces Trios Historic Relic Lot – Lindbergh, Earhart, Hughes (Cards 1–8)
This 8-card collection from Pieces of the Past: Trios features embedded relics tied to Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, and Howard Hughes. Each card includes original document fragments—several of which appear to show authentic handwriting, and at least one possible Earhart signature fragment.
Card 1: ✍️ Earhart: “the el / juice” — likely poetic or letter fragment; Lindbergh newsprint
Card 2: ✍️ Earhart: “libe” — clean ink, likely short for “liberty”; rare Hughes blueprint swatch
Card 3: ✍️ Earhart: “dialed” — full word in script; paired with “Real’” and Malta map
Card 4: Hughes-only sepia card with ✍️ “You” — handwritten word, elegantly looped
Card 5: ✍️ Earhart: “galion”, and strong visual match to “melia” at top line — very likely a partial Amelia signature; CBS/Smithsonian newsprint
Card 6: ✍️ Earhart: “uel” — possibly tail end of “Amelia”; paired with “symbol to offer”
Card 7: ✍️ Earhart: “in Co / three” (or “S free”) — strong cursive fragment; Lindbergh relic mentions Dr. Van
Card 8: ✍️ Lindbergh: “feel the” — possibly genuine handwriting on laid paper; slabbed
Seven of the eight cards include handwriting attributed to Earhart. Card 5 & 6 in particular appear to contain a partial signature, showing strong matches to known forms of “melia.” Card 8 offers a rare Lindbergh ink relic, and Card 4 includes Hughes' only handwritten word in this series.
🧠 Authentication Potential:
This collection has not been formally authenticated, but handwriting analysis of the Lindbergh card (included in listing photos) indicates a strong match (70–80% visual likelihood).
The tight weave of the Lindbergh paper appears consistent with early 1900s laid paper.
Earhart fragments show consistent slant, ink, and spacing across multiple cards—suggesting authenticity across multiple sources.
Hughes fragment extremely consistent with Howard Hughes writing style and the written text on the card also reassures authenticity.
💰 Valuation & Opportunity:
If handwriting and paper are verified by PSA, JSA, or Beckett, this lot may be worth considerably more than asking.
